Consistency Beats Complexity
The same principle that builds companies builds bodies: stop optimizing the plan and start repeating the basics.
For a long time, I treated getting in shape like a strategy problem.
The perfect program. The optimal split. The ideal macros. I researched endlessly and started constantly — and quit just as often, always in search of a better plan.
The breakthrough had nothing to do with a better plan. It came when I picked a boring, unremarkable routine and simply refused to stop doing it. Same handful of movements. Same few days a week. For months.
It wasn’t optimized. It was consistent. And consistency, it turns out, compounds in a way that complexity never does.
I’ve watched the same truth play out in every company I’ve led. Teams don’t fail because their plans aren’t clever enough. They fail because they can’t execute the simple thing repeatedly. Consistency beats complexity — in the gym, in business, in life.
The plan you repeat beats the plan you perfect.
What story are you telling yourself?
Every chapter you've outgrown is one you can rewrite. Start with a single honest answer.
